The long road to Super Bowl LII has arrived as the matchup is set as the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are set to face off in Minneapolis. For these two teams this won’t be the first time these two teams have faced off in the big game as the two matched up back at Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville. In that game the Patriots used a 10 point fourth quarter to pick up the 24-21 win. This time around fans of the Eagles and sports handicappers are looking for a totally different outcome.
Now fast forward 13 years these teams will face off in the NFL’s biggest game with a chance to add some big time hardware to their resume. For the Eagles, Super Bowl LII will present them a chance to take home their first Super Bowl title. For the Patriots, a win on Sunday will not only solidify themselves as one of the greatest dynasties of all time but also reward them with their sixth Super Bowl title since 2001.
With that said let’s take a look at the Keys to The Game for both the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl LII
Philadelphia Eagles – All Success rides on the arm of Nick Foles
The Eagles are a very well rounded teams on both sides of the ball one that features a very solid defense. In this game though the key to their success will come on the arm of Nick Foles who will not only have to look to avoid turnovers but the team will need him to make some big time throws much like he did in the NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings. Luckily for the Eagles, after an early lead turned into a blowout they didn’t need to rely on his arm. This week in Super Bowl LII, the Eagles will be going up against one of the game’s Greatest Quarterbacks and not Case Keenum. In order to win this game, Foles will need to get all of his weapons involved including Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Nelson Agohler and Zach Ertz.
New England Patriots – Shut Down the Eagles Vertical Threat
When you have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick leading the charge you can expect the Patriots to be in every game from start to finish. The same can be said for Super Bowl LII as they look to add another Super Bowl Trophy to their resume. In Super Bowl LII, the Patriots will need to look to shut down the big time vertical threat the Eagles passing attack presents and one fans saw first hand just a few weekends ago against the Vikings. Now the Patriots defensive back will rely on Stephon Gilmore and Malcolm Bulter to shut down the Eagles trio of wide receivers forcing the Eagles to beat them with their running attack.
