The Indiana Pacers might have a dilemma. They probably can’t win an NBA title with Victor Oladipo in his current role, and they probably can’t without him. For some customers at CentSports, the free sports betting site, this may simplify their Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers Spread Pick & Prediction. But does it? The Lakers have shown intensity most of the time in the NBA bubble, but they are one team that is guaranteed of their position. So that presents a unique set of circumstances for head coach Frank Vogel.
The Pacers and Lakers will meet on Saturday at 6 PM ET in a game that is slated to be televised on TNT.
Oladipo sat out on Monday against Washington, since the team did not want to use him in both ends of a back-to-back. As many people know, he has been in the process of recovering from a tear of his quad tendon, and the challenge for this team is that he has played in only 15 games, and he has been on a restrictions in terms of his playing time. He has at times been explosive in the lineup, but in a sense what makes things difficult is that the Pacers can’t necessarily make him the focal point of their attack.
Oladipo, a genuine two-way player, wanted to claim injury and opt out of the rest of the season, because it meant he could still get paid. But the league disputed that, because it felt that not only was Oladipo healthy enough to play, but that they did not want to set a bad precedent which might lead to a number of players opting out with situations that are borderline at the most.
So Oladipo went into the bubble.
And the Pacers will have him in the playoffs, which means he is going to have to get prepared to go a lot of minutes if they are going to have a chance.
We’re just not so sure those minutes are coming against the Lakers, and if you are making a pointspread pick at CentSports, you should ponder that.
Meanwhile, someone else has stepped up to assume the scoring load for Indiana. TJ Warren, the N.C. State product, had a 53-point effort against Philadelphia in his first game out of the box in the bubble, and averaged just under 40 points over the first three, all of which were victories for the Pacers.
Keep an eye on injuries for Indiana, aside from that of Oladipo. Domantas Sabonis (foot) and Malcolm Brogdon (neck) have been held out of games. How important are they? Well, Sabonis, who is the son of legendary international star Arvydas Sabonis (who also spent quality time in the NBA) emerged as an All-Star performer this season. And Brogdon, a versatile type, is one of just a handful of members of the NBA’s “50-40-90” club, which means that he has hit 50% from the field, 40% from three-point range and 90% from the free throw line in the same season.
Clearly an objective on the part of coach Nate McMillan will be to have this team as healthy as possible for the post-season, and with his team firmly in the playoff queue, the only question to be decided is where they are going to be situated. A first-round matchup against Miami is altogether possible.
Indiana Pacers vs Los Angeles Lakers Spread Pick & Prediction
The Lakers have already clinched the #1 seed in the Western Conference, so one thing they absolutely want to avoid doing is getting anyone hurt unnecessarily. On defense, their task is simpler here, because Indiana takes fewer three-pointers than any other team in the NBA. That is something to factor into the equation as you make your Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers Spread Pick & Prediction at CentSports, the free sports betting site.
